Mattachine Society celebration to proceed, honor Kameny
The Rainbow History Project will honor the 50th anniversary of the Mattachine Society of Washington, the District’s oldest gay rights organization, on Oct. 13 at the National Trust for Historic Preservation. A panel discussion will feature founders Lilli Vincenz and Paul Kuntzler. Frank Kameny, a founding member of the Mattachine Society, was also going to participate in the panel, but he died Tuesday.
